Die Dominikanische Republik konnte im vergangenen Jahr (2014) neue historische Rekorde verbuchen. Die Zuwachsraten waren so hoch wie nie, lediglich aus Russland kamen weniger Besucher. Dies jedoch liegt nicht am Reiseziel sondern an den wirtschaftlichen Problemen in Russland. Ob aus den USA, Kanada oder Deutschland, die „DomRep“ steht hoch im Kurs.
Anteil zu diesem Erfolg tragen nicht nur die Vielfältigkeit des Angebotes (Sport/Aktion/Öko/Strand/Kultur/Geschichte…), sondern auch die guten Hotels im Land. Auszeichnungen gibt es zahlreiche, hier sind sie gelistet (Quelle – AccessDR):
